Poor Hills. After Winning, too!
Regardless, Hill ran a really good campaign and right after Obama was announced as the nomination, I watched street interviews on TV with my Mama and people were giving opinions about how they think Hills is more qualified and experienced but Obama was more charismatic and a great speaker, which is what made him the pick. They then went on to say that they're happy it's not about race and that Obama made history but also that they're not going to vote for him because they don't know a lot about him.
Maybe they saw this. Or this.

Hillary Victory!

So Hillary got more than double the votes of Obama. After her campaign has been claiming "victory" for weeks (which we all know is debatable), I got an e-mail from her camp today saying that "this race is not over yet." So in a twisted way, she's indirectly admitting that it was starting to look over for her...haa.

Touchy Subject In My City
So Mission Viejo decided to display "In God We Trust" as an emblem behind where the City Council sits during City Council meetings. That means the emblem would be nice and big when meetings are televised. Now I believe in God, and I understand why we would choose to have this emblem on display. However, after living in Mission Viejo for 20 years and knowing that there is (unfortunately) a large population of citizens who are TOO HARD religiously, I feel that having this emblem really is unnecessary and will do more division than unify.
For example, residents on my street have used religion to the point where my boyfriend isn't good because he's Jewish, and they use it as a tool to discriminate against others: having public Bible readings to their kids on their front lawn and if you don't openly accept God or go to church, you're a bad person. These people are the ones that push for the emblem.
It may not seem like a big deal, but if you lived in my city with an open mind, you would understand. I LOVE Mission Viejo. I LOVE my city. I am very, very fortunate to have been able to grow up here and go to these great schools. But it's come to the point where believing in God isn't even enough...you must go to Church. If you're home on Sunday, some little kids call you a witch.
So imagine what people would say if you're in office and vote against displaying "In God We Trust." This would be seen as un-patriotic. However, at times people in my city 1) try to live up to "The OC" and "The Real Housewives of Orange County" (since Coto is the gated community right by my house) and 2) resemble "Pleasantville" sometimes (but now with Moms who don't watch their young kids when they play in the streets and instead go workout or go shopping). There are a lot of people I know who are spiritual or atheist but are good, intelligent, hard-working people.

Honestly, we really don't need to have our emblem....our City Council Chamber looks like a scene out of 1984 already without it (with all the cold, contemporary design and colors and technology).

Obama's poetry as a youngn'
Did you know that he submitted poetry to Occidental's Literary Magazine?
Hopefully, I don't think that's what he got in for. He was probably stoned when he wrote this and thought everyone looked like Apes when he would go to the underground gatherings and talk (I know he did that later in college, but I don't know if he did also at Occidental.... underground meetings were for radical get-togethers I hear).
Under water grottos, caverns
Filled with apes
That eat figs.
Stepping on the figs
That the apes
Eat, they crunch.
The apes howl, bare
Their fangs, dance,
Tumble in the
Rushing water,
Musty, wet pelts
Glistening in the blue.

McCain's site more like Obama's now

IMPROVEMENTS: 1) They made the site easier visually and localized things. 2) They also got high tech on us with the left side bar transforming into a slideshow with different topics.
3) They included Cindy McCain more on their site and really have you focus and realize that she has a history of doing work
And I have a print screen of Obama's so you can see what I mean. Most of the students in our class said they preferred Obama's and liked the ease of the site and said that McCain's was too dark and serious.
What's all the big fuss about??
Can you name 1 accomplishment Obama has made from the top of your head?
The Net is great, but easy to take advantage of
McCainy was asked multiple questions and he was answering the previous one when the vote for Bush question came up.
While I would have loved something more entertaining, I couldn't resist to post on this. While there are many videos that make an impact out there, this one is straight up propaganda to make an impact on people and you can totally tell. At least they tried. If you want a good video, go to my previous post. Those people did a really good job.
At least he corrected himself on the Al Quaeda comment....
There are only 2 things I don't see anything wrong with (everything else is just sad):
1) Iran training extremists error...at least he corrected it (not by himself..but understandable if you get confused while talking about the issue)
2) celebrating his birthday with Bushy....the picture is just of him and Bushy holding a cake...they aren't even sitting down. They're standing up on a desert-y ground. I would be appalled if he were having a birthday party and wearing party hats and all....but there's really nothing wrong with catching a picture of him posing with a cake made for him on his birthday and he's standing outside.
The others, however, are just pathetic.
Honesty is the best policy! Maybe that should be a policy....someone should pass something called "Honesty." Maybe Barack since he hasn't passed a single legislature yet.
I Know How You Can Beat George Bush and His Failed Policies--DONATE TO ME!!!!
E-mail I got from Obama:
Friend --
Right now you have a unique opportunity to go head-to-head with George W. Bush.
This week, John McCain and George Bush gathered behind closed doors, away from the cameras, to raise money for McCain's campaign.
McCain used Bush to raise a reported $3.5 million from a group of about 500 Republican contributors.
That's a lot of money that will undoubtedly be used to attack us and make the case to continue George Bush's failed policies.
But I have an idea about how we can match it. And we don't need George Bush.
Right now, someone who has already given once to the campaign is ready to give again -- but only if you make your first donation right now.
If you take the next step and decide to own a piece of this campaign, that supporter will double your gift.
You'll see the name and hometown of the person who matched your donation. And you can even choose to exchange a personal note about why you've decided to support a different kind of politics.
Double your impact -- your donation of $25 will equal $50 for our cause.
Now is the perfect time to make your first donation:
https://donate.barackobama.com
As the presumptive nominee of his party, John McCain has had a three-month head start to build his campaign. In that time, he's made his fundraising strategy clear.
In the words of one reporter, the gala fundraiser with Bush was "part of McCain's delicate effort to find the balance between embracing an unpopular president and taking advantage of his huge continuing draw with well-heeled Republicans."
We'll see more of this dance in the weeks and months ahead, but we already know the steps.
As we prepare to take on John McCain, now is our first chance to show that a grassroots movement of people giving only what they can afford can go toe-to-toe with the Bush-McCain fundraising machine.
And with the last three contests of the Democratic primary coming up in the next five days, the resources we're building right now are an urgent necessity.
Help build our movement by making a matching donation today:
https://donate.barackobama.com
John McCain can run from the cameras, but he can't hide from the fact that he's aiming to continue George Bush's policies for a disastrous third term.
Let's show that we're ready to take him on.
Thank you,
Barack
For only $250, you can get your own McCain banner!!!!
Oh BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!!
Frank and Becki Donatelli also say:
P.S. This banner is perfect to take along on your next vacation, to display from your cabin, beach house rental or hotel balcony. Follow this link to order your personalized banner right away. Thank you!
Hillary says our donation will be worth double in Puerto Rico.....
The Mafia!!!! That would be interesting...hmmmmm
Dear Friend,
This Sunday, voters in Puerto Rico will go to the polls and make their voices heard -- the first time the island has played such a vital role in selecting our party's nominee. At this critical moment, I am depending on you to help me make sure they have a choice. We are depending on the voters of Puerto Rico in our fight to secure the nomination.
It doesn't matter what the pundits say. You and I know this race is up to the voters, and I'm going to keep fighting for every last vote. That's why it is so important that we get voters to the polls over the next few days -- and we can't do that without your help.
Over the next four days, we have the opportunity to make history in the Puerto Rico primary -- and win the national primary vote by redoubling our efforts. That's why a group of supporters has agreed to match contributions today from new donors -- meaning every dollar you give is worth double. Your $50 gift is worth $100, your $25 gift is worth $50 -- even a donation as small as $5 will have twice the impact.
Contribute today, and your donation will go twice as far toward helping us make history.
Puerto Rico isn't the only important deadline our campaign faces. The final two races -- in South Dakota and Montana -- are just six days away. And this Saturday marks another crucial end-of-month fundraising deadline.
And with the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee's decision on Florida and Michigan also coming Saturday, there has never been a more important time to keep our campaign moving forward.
We can finish the primary races strong and win the nomination, but only with your help. And because your contribution today is worth double, today is a great time to give.
Double your impact by making a contribution today.
Throughout the course of this campaign, your support has made the difference time and time again. Now we are facing the last few primaries together, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Thank you for everything,
Hillary Rodham Clinton
As the deadline feels close, I feel everyone wanting just my money. Obama pulls a Hills here.

E-mail from Obama: 5 DONATE LINKS! And they were making fun of Hillary for sounding desperate.
Dear Friend,
Only three contests remain in the Democratic primary.
Voters head to the polls in Puerto Rico on Sunday, followed by South Dakota and Montana on Tuesday.
After more than four dozen contests, Barack has won the most votes, the most delegates, and more than half the states. But we still need 48 delegates to secure the nomination.
We're fighting in these critical states and making the preparations necessary to take on Senator McCain.
The financial demands on our immediate horizon are greater than at any point in the campaign so far. We face a critical reporting deadline on Saturday, and your support could make the difference before these last three contests.
Step up and own a piece of this campaign at this crucial moment. Make your first donation of $25 now:
https://donate.barackobama.com
The primaries will be over on Tuesday, June 3rd, but there's another important deadline coming up even sooner.
This Saturday at midnight is the financial reporting deadline for the month of May.
Give our campaign a crucial boost before these final contests, and send a message that we are ready to move to the next phase and compete against Senator McCain in all 50 states.
Now is the time to show your support -- make a donation now:
https://donate.barackobama.com
This has been a long journey, and it's hard to believe that there are just three primaries to go.
Millions of supporters like you have joined this movement for change and organized in their local communities.
We've reached out to new voters and brought people who had given up on politics back into the process.
The last primary votes will be counted in just six days. Show your support today. Make a donation of $25:

Thanks for all you've done,

Obama has been getting the most votes...but Hillary said SHE has been getting the most???
ok now the e-mail from Chelsea...
We need your help to make a critical decision -- our next official campaign t-shirt.
We recently launched a contest to design a campaign t-shirt, and I couldn't believe the incredible response. We got thousands of great entries. They were creative, inspirational, funny, and beautiful. It was amazing to see the devotion to my mom's campaign come through in each t-shirt. Thank you to everyone who submitted a design!
It wasn't easy to narrow it down, but we've chosen five we think are particularly great, and now we need your help in making our final decision. Please vote for your favorite design -- the winning shirt will go on sale in our online campaign store.
Please click here to see the finalists and vote for your favorite.
Thanks again for everything you're doing to help my mom!
Go Hillary!

A Vote for a T-shirt is a Vote for My Mom, and Contributing $$ is a Vote for My Mom
"Dear Amewica,
I wuv my Daddy. He's a good man. He would be a good Pwesident. If you wuv your Daddy as much as I wuv mine, you understand that you would want your Daddy to be Pwesident too because you think he would do a good job!
Thank you and please vote Daddy for Pwesident.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX muah muah muah,
Obama's Really Cute Daughters
PS
If you don't vote for my Daddy, I'll grow up feeling racism and resentment. We won't talk about it in public, but we are very influence by our Reverend and think he is the smartest man we have ever known! He teaches us about how much we still suffer today. If you don't vote for Daddy, we will understand what Rev. has always meant by racism. So please vote for our Daddy--it's a vote for our future!"
Aaaaaanddd scene.
Apparently, Hills has been winning all along. Dear Friend, Please Give Me Your Money!!!!!
I owe our 35-point win in Kentucky yesterday to your incredible support. So let me ask you -- do you think we should let the TV talking heads have the final say in this race? Or should we do what we have always done, and fight together for what you and I believe in?
I have never for one moment forgotten what this race is about -- the millions of people who are looking to you and me for the leadership America needs. It's about getting our economy moving again. It's about bringing the war in Iraq to a responsible end. It's about fulfilling America's energy needs while protecting the planet for our children and grandchildren. It's about making sure that every man, woman, and child in America has health care.
Now we have just three races left, and your help is absolutely critical in these final two weeks. So let's do it. Let's keep fighting and winning together, as we have all along.
Contribute today and let's keep driving toward victory.
Let's talk about the state of this race.
I've won more votes than anyone running for the Democratic nomination in the history of our party. I've won states that will total 308 electoral votes in November -- more than enough to carry the general election. And it is critical that we make certain the more than 2 million voters in Florida and Michigan are heard.
We can let the media decide this race. We can let the pundits be the ones who determine our party's nominee. Or we can listen to the voters. Yesterday, voters in Kentucky joined you in sending a clear message -- this campaign is far from over.
Throughout it all, through the ups and downs of this race, you've been there, supporting me every step of the way. Help me send a strong message that this race isn't over yet.
Contribute now to help us in the final three races.
I'm so proud of what we accomplished yesterday in Kentucky, and of all the victories we celebrated together. We've worked too hard to stop now. Thank you for your incredible support. I don't have to tell you that I couldn't do this without you.
Sincerely,
Hillary Rodham Clinton

The McCain Update - May 16, 2008
| This week, John McCain detailed what America will look like at the end of his first term as president. Click to watch and read this powerful speech. From our national security, to the economy, health care, the role of government and the service of all Americans, John McCain outlines what is possible when you put the national interest ahead of partisanship; building an America that is safer, freer and more prosperous. "We cannot again leave our problems for another unluckier generation of Americans to fix after they have become even harder to solve. I'm not interested in partisanship that serves no other purpose than to gain a temporary advantage over our opponents. This mindless, paralyzing rancor must come to an end. We belong to different parties, not different countries. We are rivals for the same power. But we are also compatriots. We are fellow Americans, and that shared distinction means more to me than any other association. I intend to prove myself worthy of the office; of our country; and of your respect. I won't judge myself by how many elections I've won. I won't spend one hour of my presidency worrying more about my re-election than keeping my promises to the American people. There is a time to campaign, and a time to govern. If I'm elected president, the era of the permanent campaign will end. The era of problem solving will begin. I promise you, from the day I am sworn into office until the last hour of my presidency, I will work with anyone, of either party, to make this country safe, prosperous and proud. And I won't care who gets the credit." Click here to watch John McCain's speech on his vision for our future. |

Global Climate Change
| John McCain believes we can protect the environment and come up with better solutions for our future. As president, he will establish a market-based system to curb greenhouse gas emissions, mobilize innovative technologies, and strengthen the economy. He will work with our international partners to secure our energy future, to create opportunities for American industry and to leave a better future for our children. Addressing climate change today through a market-based system will also help our country become less reliant on foreign sources of oil. John McCain's principles for climate policy include:

Got This in My e-mail
Obama: Tyranists President?
---
The Barack Obama endorsements keep rolling in. Super delegates are supporting him.
Kennedy, McGovern and every leftist in America seems to be supporting Obama.
But he is now gaining the support and encouragement from world leaders. This could
be trouble for McCain.
So far the leader of Hamas has encouraged Barack.
The leader of the Columbian terrorist FARC believes in Barack.
"Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega praised Obama and his political allies as
"laying the foundations for a revolutionary change" in America."
Wow, Barack is quickly gaining the terrorist support world wide. Maybe this is why
he is willing to meet with them? He has their confidence.
Pass this along. Looks like Hillary was right--with this support Obama can not win
in November. Who is the chair of the "Terrorists for Obama", Fidel Castro or John
Murtha?

Our Self-Esteemed is tied in with everything
The real question is, how much does someone trust in themself...or how much is someone entirely confident in themselves and know themselves well enough that they won't be swayed to find or feel like something is wrong with their bodies when they were fine with it before....
Something to ponder.
thoughts.
To remind you, I'll post the vid here:
Now, thinking about what they're saying, and thinking about the more that I find out or see...it's actually quite the opposite. I'm not saying Obama's supporters have no minds of their own. That's quite the contrary. Actually, they DO have minds of their own which is why I believe they supported a candidate that was so different. They (I myself included) became enthralled with this figure and went against the tide or classic politics....
The unfortunate thing is that in trying to be different and celebrate that, really we have become the same...and that's no necessarily a good thing. It's not good when you want something so badly that you are unable to see the facts laid out in front of you. Again, I'll say it...no one enjoys being wrong, but if you realize you're wrong, instead of making excuses and trying to ignore it, it's time to admit it before it's too late...before we realize we really did want someone who had more pride and honor in our country. All countries go through good and bad, but successful countries don't have leaders who believe their country, AS A WHOLE, EVERYTHING INCLUDED, should be looked down upon.
It will not be good to have a leader with:
1) extremely radical ties and we see nothing wrong with that now
2) charismatic and persuasive personality combined with above fore mentioned and below
3) no real experience with anything...not even his profession of law or even passing a bill (all senators introduce bills. Study state government.)
4) abrasive when questioned or hears what s/he doesn't want to hear...even to a common citizen
5) no real pride, faith (not necessarily religious), and honor in the country which gave us all a chance to build ourselves lives in which we are responsible for, combined with openly showing it and being highly charismatic and persuasive.
wow pretty confusing. I had to watch it 3 times to get all the info in!
Don't think many at UCI have seen this
At least this one is MSNBC
oh dear. part II from Fox
Would have loved to hear the rest of it and what the guy said after.
Of course, from Fox but the video is priceless.
They ask Obama supporters to name 1 accomplishment Barack has made. (Part 1)
I've had so many things on my comp I've wanted to post or say, so for convenience's sake, I'll do it one after another.
It's because you already know about all of the bad he others have and rarely ever hear about this candidate, but to be fair, I will post on Hil and McCain too after I've posted everything from my list of things on Word.
Under the gun?
Was this the right way to handle this woman? If you ask a presidential candidate what his or her plans are and how they expect to achieve it, you want answers, right? If you're on the fence about picking someone, you want answers to help you decide, right? So is it out of line for a candidate to scold, yell at, and punish a voting citizen for seeking answers in a question and answer round?
I think so. I wouldn't want to fear being oppressed or discriminated against for being curious, having questions, seeking answers, and having my own mind. This is ironically more Brave New World than I was expecting it to be--esp. since there was that video from Obama's camp that criticized Hillary supporters for not thinking on their own.
See if you can spot the difference!
I'm talking about the singer. The one that's just a picture on tv with the anthem playing is Whitney, and the live recording is a beached whale singing.
PS Ignore whatever the video titles say. I just want you to hear.

2 things
2 things:
- Nothing wrong with a President who can shoot a gun. Technically, I would hope that if we send a soldier to war, he or she knows how to shoot a gun!
- Also, you have to consider the state he's from and what is socially acceptable there: Arizona, lots of desert. Lots of back land; remember, think "Western life" in AZ in the 1800s.
- You also have to realize that CA is lucky to be a) so incredibly diverse, b) have lots of suburban and city areas where shooting a gun is likely to hurt someone due to proximity. ("By 1964, California had surpassed New York to become the most populous state. One reason for this may be that more immigrants settle in California than any other state." Don't think many people feel comfortable with giving immigrants guns, plus there are lots of famous people who could be assassination targets by crazed fans...Hollywood)
- ALSO, think back to how many past Presidents of the US shot guns (and drank whiskey) ever since George Washington and you'll find trying to make something out of nothing.
- Carol failed to consider that McCain FINISHED high school and then went to the UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY and graduated in 1958 THEN graduated from flight school in 1960 and later fought in the Vietnam War (duh), where he unfortunately could not receive a law degree and not practice it like Obama.
- Because all the men in McCain's family has a history of being in the military, it's no wonder that he changed schools whenever his dad was transfered to another base and, overall, attended about 20 schools.
- Had he not even attended the Naval Academy and just enlisted and been drafted into war, that also wasn't scoffed at in the 60s and 70s. Education isn't as readily available as it is now, and not everyone went to college. Then, you could still find a decent job with a High School Diploma, and college was more of a "choice." It is arguable that college is less of a choice now and more of a "necessity" and assumption, esp. with the competitiveness of school and availability for education to everyone (immigrants worked hard to give their children a better life, no child left behind, financial aid, Affirmative Action, etc.). It will be hard to find a decent job without some form of a college degree.
- In essence, this post of hers is whack. The End.
McCain's Site Part I
I got an e-mail 3 days ago (that I didn't check until today) saying "This week we relaunched JohnMcCain.com with new features and tools for supporters like you to use. Along with the new design of the site, there are new ways to get involved, recruit your friends and spread the word about John McCain."
So I checked it out and 1st, the background is no longer black with gray stars. It's more a more cheerful but still serious and presidential (and ironically the Democrats' color of choice) blue with stars!
Don't believe me? Check it out here and if you've seen his site before, you'll instantly see how much more inviting it is now.
Laptop Wouldn't Post This Last Night
Now it seems to break down to this:
Obama will bash McCain for being a "Bush clone" who wants an endless war and to make the economy stagnant.
McCain will rebut that Obama never served in a uniform and that he has the experience for everything.
Man, and we though Bush/Gore amd Bush/Kerry was epic!

Man oh Man...it keeps getting worse :(
OBAMA ON NOT ACCEPTING $$$$$ FROM OIL COMPANIES:
From Hillary's FactHub:
"It’s unfortunate that Senator Obama is using false advertising to explain why he can be trusted to do something about energy prices. Senator Obama says he doesn’t take campaign contributions from oil companies but the reality is that Exxon, Shell, and others are among his donors. I wonder if they’ll fix the ad.” – Clinton Campaign Spokesman Phil Singer
A new ad by Sen. Obama running in Pennsylvania falsely claims that Sen. Obama does not accept money from the oil industry. In the ad, Sen. Obama says "I'm Barack Obama and I don't take money from oil companies or lobbyists and I wont let them block change anymore."
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Sen. Obama has received over $160,000 from the oil and gas companies. Two major bundlers for his campaign -- George Kaiser and Robert Cavnar – are oil company CEOs. Sen. Obama has accepted money from Exxon, Shell, BP, Chevron and just about every other major oil company.
In 2005, Sen. Obama voted for the Dick Cheney energy bBill, which Cheney wrote in secret with the oil industry. Hillary Clinton opposed Cheney's energy bill, has a plan to eliminate oil industry tax breaks, and would require oil companies to contribute to a $50 billion strategic energy fund to jumpstart research and investment in clean energy technologies.
BECAUSE THIS COULD BE BIASED SINCE IT'S HIS OPPONENT, I CHECKED OUT SOME OTHERS. AMONG THEM, FactCheck.org:

Soooo From the Tillman Act of 1907, ALL Corps are prohibited from contributing directly to ALL federal candidates.
Also, because the gov doesn't require reporting donations less than $200, those aren't included..
I'd LOVE to believe that this kind of honesty is possible, but the facts are there and people need to realize that being fooled by someone they care about and want so much good for happens often, and there's no shame in giving trust and being initially infatuated with someone so much that you want to believe in them. We all have that and I really hope everyone realizes it soon, because those kind of relationships never end well for the person giving all trust.

see all the facts obviously and I'm the only one who thinks about
Obama this way.
Then again, I have always had a mindset and thought process way more
mature and I always think of things in terms of far into the future. I
also have never followed trends or given in to peer pressure or had
self-esteem issues for not agreeing with other people. And you know
what? In the end, I usually end up being right and always end up
setting the trend way before and other people do it after me. So
hopefully, people will start to realizw that this Obama trend is as
bad they have been duped as trapeze dresses.

SORRY for the big delay!!!
Sooooo I PROMISE that I will post at least 1 post EVERY day from now on until the due date of this Poli Sci Blog!
In other news, I wanted to briefly comment on Obama and his military advisor. Among many of the reasons why having Israel return to the pre-1967 borders is such a big deal is that Jerusalem would be divided and Israel would also lose key military bases. They already gave up key military bases in a compromise for peace with Egypt before (then Egypt's leader was assassinated by his own people for agreeing on peace with Israel, ending with the two states in a "cold peace") when the other Arab states agreed to "ignore" that Israel even existed as a state. Sure, Israel seems huge with all of the infrastructure and technology that comes out of it and also with all of the aid and support they give other countries...but remember that in reality, this state is surrounded on all sides by dominantly larger states where the majority of the population want to "eradicate the ignominy that has been with us since 1948."
So what good do you think can come of this? Do we want to believe in a President who will support this? Even if he changes his military advisor, starting out with someone so radical only means he himself MUST believe in the same ideals in order to hire the guy (of all the people qualified to advise militarily) in the first place! What happened to integrity and respect and honor. The only way for countries to respect the US again is if we stop 1) being ignorant and start being realistic and 2) have integrity and show how honorable we are.

Reiterating On Last Ending to Elaborate
Briefly, my posts are often long. I'll sometimes chop one up into 2, but I'm too lazy to do that now. One of the things I'll comment later on is the advisor wanting Israel to return to the pre-1967 boundaries. A lot of people don't think that's a big deal, but it really is. I'll explain why in a later post. In the meantime, I'll post this video here and you should listen to everything she says. Don't try to paraphrase her. Do it verbatim as context gets easily shifted around with the substitution of just one word.
Rev. Lee's Anti-Semitism
At the start of my last post, I asked whether disguising racism or being open about it is worse.
It's rather interesting that "disguised racism" (as I will dubb it) has been going on for 20 years behind doors, and now that it's coming out nationally, you look at all of this and realize that there is no denying the racist content.
Racism is racism--manipulation, discrimination, and brain washing indefinitely. Is having proof of it and yet denial about it any much better than open display of discrimination in the Deep South? The irony is that, while I look down upon White Supremacists, at least they didn't try to hide their agenda. At least we knew exactly what they wanted and how they felt.
Just because someone preaches or supports racism and denies it doesn't make them any better: we may only think of them as better because we want to believe the .000000001 chance that they are right about their denial. Ironically, at least white supremacists were honest with us. Either way, if someone discirminates against you, they aren't going to have your back. You're going to get stabbed either way.
Would you prefer investing time and energy into a friend who ends up stabbing you in the back, or being able to know that someone is going to hate you anyway no matter what you do so don't bother with them? So which one is really better, and are they even really that different?
Both would be happy to see you down, one might just pretend to have sympathy, but what does it matter if it's not genuine?
Anti-Semitism Issues That Have Been on My Mind
I will admit: I really liked Obama. I thought he was a breath of fresh air...someone who really utilized the "young" community. He gave the college kids a voice and seemed to really appreciate their efforts. He's just a charismatic guy you want to like..especially to root for over Clinton.
However, I had to put my emotions aside and really look at the bare facts in what I really wanted for a President, this country, and my life. First came the wife's comments about never bring proud to be an American (after graduating Ivy Leagues, recognized for achievements and all), then his Pastor...his "mentor" and "guidance" and closest ally and "uncle"...
Even after this, I was still trying to be understanding, but I was definitely starting to question him.
The moment I found out Obama's military advisor is Anti-Semitic, that was it.
The President of the US is supposed to represent me and you. They have to be someone other nations look at and trust. If Obama has an Anti-Semitic military advisor, change is going to happen--only everything will be catalytic to already volatile situations and environments in the Middle East, around the world, and here at home. You have to ask yourself what this will mean.
Obama was urged to drop his Anti-Semitic military advisor, but I still haven't heard any updates on the decision.
No one likes being wrong; it takes a lot of self criticism, acceptance, and confidence to admit that you were wrong. I will admit it. There are things going on in this world that people don't know enough about or really understand because history builds up on itself and people just don't have the time or sources to really study all the way back far enough. We have to put aside our emotions and look at the facts that are there.
Once college students (a collection of some of the brightest, most energetic, and most adaptive minds) realize it's ok to lay out the facts that look at them, we are all going to feel so duped. We are in a phase of infatuation and denial. We criticize hypocrisy and blissful ignorance and refuse to be victims or perpetuators of the same. We are so infatuated that we can't see what is really going on until we take ourselves out of this picture...much like in a relationship.
We're going to feel used, and if we let this continue, it will only be time until others point out and say, "Aha, see, young minds don't know anything and are so easy to manipulate." The only way to save our reputation as progressive, bright minds that deserve respect is to stop digging outselves in a hole with denial and come to terms with reality. That's what we criticize others for, and we need to do the same.
In all honesty, college students work hard, study hard, socialize hard. We try hard. We trust hard. College students are so busy that we trust what friends tell us and support what friends tell us. When I spoke up in class about Obama's Military Advisor being Anti-Semitic, I heard people gasp. I don't think people hear about this, and that's why they don't know. If you support Obama, of course they're not gonna tell you, "Oh, btw, his advisor is Anti-Semitic." You're not gonna hear it bc most likely, that's where you'll get all your infomation about the candidate from--they're just not going to tell you about the bad things. Supporting Obama clearly is the popular thing to do...it's a fad. A trend like Forever 21 and trapeze dresses. We are going to look back and think, "Wow. I can't believe I was a follower so easily when I thought I set my own trends." Those of us who wore trapeze dresses will look back and think, "I can't believe I wanted to look pregnant when I wasn't."

Maybe They're Afraid Remembering Colin Powell Could Overshadow Obama's Successes?
I recall people still reminiscing on wanting him as President after Desert Storm. In fact, it seems like the masses really wanted him, but he turned down the Party's nomination after his return, saying that he wanted to spend time with his family. That's a wise man, but you also have to wonder how it would have changed history...I mean, this was YEARS before Obama ever came into the picture, and most likely, if he ran, Powell would have probably won. It's not like he had only black people who supported him--even Mormons I spoke to just a couple months ago wanted him as President. This gives you an idea of how likeable of a candidate he would have been.
What's so odd is that now with Obama as a potential, people are calling for "change" and saying what a big success this is to, namely, the black community. Have people forgotten about Colin Powell? Doubt it. But it should definitely be recognized that Powell does belong to a different party and if anything, acknowledging his ability to get mass support for the elections (despite not being white) long before Obama would mean that Obama, then, is nothing special.
This makes it seem almost like Colin Powell and Condeleezza's successes are nothing to praise because, while they could both be compared to Obama in terms of skin, they belong to the opposing party and a success for Powell and Rice wouldn't mean a success for "their people"--it could be seen as a success, instead, for the Republican Party. Irony?
Colin puts the POW in Powell. I like that better than OBAMB a your country. Actually, now POW just ends up looking like Pris. of War without the comic book excitement....POW = McCain. Oh quirkiness at its glory.
Note: The remainder of my blogs will probably use "black," "un-Caucasian," and maybe even "African American" interchangeably because once I tried being PC by calling someone African American, and he told me he preferred "black" because his great, great grandparents were the Africans from Africa but he was indefintely black. So if you're offended by me using either of these, at least this way you'll only be 1/3 offended. Or maybe 2/3. Depends.
Irony: I should be a Fortune Teller!
But 1st:
People never like to hear what they don't want to hear...so I'm sure some people won't like what I write about. That means I'm doing my job. :)
Let it be known that whatever you read on here is written in a style that will follow my stream-of-conscience and is in no way meant to be in an Academic style...that's reserved for papers! Don't want to bore now. Whatever I write about has substance and support to it, but since it's a blog, I most likely won't cite sources as you have Google in your toolbar right there which can do the job in a jiffy for you! I am a nice person, BUT this being an open-minded blog, you will find some un-PC remarks here and there as well as irony, satire, and sarcasm. Feel free to leave comments or criticism, as both are what make life interesting and enjoyable.

Why I should be a fortune teller!
A few weeks back, I commented a few times basically on how Dr. Condeleezza Rice could be Vice-President or even President and the impacts this would have.
Why I mention this now is that I called it, even if I was sarcastic....but when I talked about it, I meant it was something that has potential and I could see actually happening so 1/2 serious and 1/2 sarcasm. Watching Anderson Cooper 360 tonight, they briefly mentioned circling rumors of McCain possibly picking Rice as his running mate. Of course, them denying these rumors doesn't mean that denying things doesn't stop them from being true.
Hillary Clinton keeps talking about her "35 years of experience." The only years she can claim to have any kind of real (or close enough to it) experience is 8 years as First Lady, dodging sniper bullets and being with Bill when he picks up the red phone @ 3am (booty calls anyone?) Don't forget about her years as Senator...which is, if you do the math, 35-8 = 27 years. Yes, because people are allowed to be senator for that long. Riiiiight. I know we can assume that she obviously means she's had real experience outside of these 2 to add up to that many years...but it's so nice of her to never touch on what exactly she spent 35 years doing. Everyone knows it's pure BS but I'm surprised no one has really dogged her for it. Quite an interesting election...
The reason why I joked about Rice being a good pick was because Hillary keeps saying her "experience" over and over, and yet Rice is the one who has all of that REAL experience over Hillary. Let's face it, there's no doubt that at least Rice has ACTUALLY spoken face-to-face with other nations' leaders over policies and issues and has actually tried to help solve them...this doesn't mean she did solve them, it just means there's actual proof that Condeleezza actually does what Hillary *claims* she herself has done.
Not only does Condeleezza have more experience than Hillary will ever have without even having to lie about it, she also would be BOTH the FIRST WOMAN AND FIRST NON-CAUCASIAN...she pretty much beats BOTH Obama and Clinton there. SHABAM! I'm not even going to say first black because frankly, it's not like an Asian has ever had it before either...so first non-white. There.
I also wanted to mention Colin Powell, but you know what? I'm gonna do it in a 2nd post since this one is looong, long loooonggg...and this way, I can get 2 posts done in 1 day. Hurrah!
