Don't you love how I started posting so early but all of a sudden stopped? Man do these days fly by! My most sincere apologies for not posting in some time. The last few weeks were crazy with 2 O-Chem midterms, Bio midterm, OTHER Bio (upper division) midterm, Student Government elections, Wayzgoose, etc. etc. Anyway, it all comes with trying to double major and minor and be involved on campus.
Sooooo I PROMISE that I will post at least 1 post EVERY day from now on until the due date of this Poli Sci Blog!
In other news, I wanted to briefly comment on Obama and his military advisor. Among many of the reasons why having Israel return to the pre-1967 borders is such a big deal is that Jerusalem would be divided and Israel would also lose key military bases. They already gave up key military bases in a compromise for peace with Egypt before (then Egypt's leader was assassinated by his own people for agreeing on peace with Israel, ending with the two states in a "cold peace") when the other Arab states agreed to "ignore" that Israel even existed as a state. Sure, Israel seems huge with all of the infrastructure and technology that comes out of it and also with all of the aid and support they give other countries...but remember that in reality, this state is surrounded on all sides by dominantly larger states where the majority of the population want to "eradicate the ignominy that has been with us since 1948."
So what good do you think can come of this? Do we want to believe in a President who will support this? Even if he changes his military advisor, starting out with someone so radical only means he himself MUST believe in the same ideals in order to hire the guy (of all the people qualified to advise militarily) in the first place! What happened to integrity and respect and honor. The only way for countries to respect the US again is if we stop 1) being ignorant and start being realistic and 2) have integrity and show how honorable we are.
